I do not like being told what to do as much as the next person, yet I was surprised to see a few familiar faces protesting masks (“
Let us remember, we are all free to leave our homes. Unlike many other areas, our trails and parks have remained open. Our restaurants and businesses are innovating new ways to run. I ordered to-go margaritas, for goodness sake!
I truly appreciate the freedom to enjoy these privileges. However, I’m concerned these freedoms will be limited or shut down completely if the majority does not comply.
It’s going to take the whole village to get through this (especially with tourist season around the corner). If wearing a mask is all that is required of me, it’s a small price to pay for the benefits of living here.
So, I don’t care if you choose not to wear one – just please stay out of our shared spaces. The rest of us will continue to adapt as we enjoy the beautiful, sunny summer in Durango.
