The 9-R school district is deciding to cut approximately 20% of our teachers. Please help to support teachers by taking a free, anonymous survey on their website at www.durangoschools.org. Click on the button on the upper left side of the page for the 20/21 budget.
I took it and disagreed with anything having to do with cutting teachers’ salaries, promotions or benefits, while agreeing with any cuts to administration, buildings or anything not directly related to educating children.
There is also a place at the end to add suggestions.
I encourage Durango Herald readers to take this survey as soon as possible. This is necessary since the school board may be deciding as soon as this week.
