Letters: State should end Durango price-gouging

Around the country, gas prices have been dropping to sub-$2 per gallon.

Yet here in Durango, prices have maintained at the $2.30 level for a long time.

Why aren’t our prices dropping?

Average from GasBuddy.com today shows an average of $2.03 in Colorado, but yet we in Durango have some of the highest prices in the country.

With unemployment in Durango surging to its highest levels in recent years, you would think the gas stations would comply with their cost-plus price instead of what the consumer will pay.

I think it is price-gouging and the state should do something about it, especially in these times when some people will not see a paycheck for a while.
