I’d like to express my appreciation for the local leaders of the Southwest Movement for Black Lives. They have led the BLM rallies every Friday evening in Buckley Park for the past many months with professionalism, insight and a concern for our safety.
They have invited us to consider how our experiences in the world would likely be different if our skin were black or brown and helped us become better educated on the topics of systemic racism and implicit bias.
Please join me in welcoming the presence of Black and brown lives in our community.
