Letters: This Trump character just caves to dictators

Living as we do in a sweet rural paradise, 300 miles from Denver and a blessed 2,000 from D.C., one is still keenly aware of how dependent we are on the state and national scenes, for health care, education, the environment, retirement, welfare, agriculture, natural resources and more.

Let me see if I’ve got this tale of woes right:

President Trump has been abasing himself, shamelessly, slavishly, to ruthless Vladimir Putin, president-forever of poor Russia. He has surrendered two successive national elections to the tender online mercies of this ex-KGB operative and has acquiesced to his imperialism in Georgia, Ukraine, the Baltics and Syria.

Likewise, Trump has been smitten with the communist dictator Xi Jin Ping, imperial oppressor of Tibet and Hong Kong. He has fallen in love with Kim Jong Un, the murderous leader-for-life of communist North Korea. He also has become the buddy of the journalist-boiling Mohammed bin Salman, crown prince of Saudi Arabia, and surrendered the stateless Kurds to the bloody ministrations of Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Given all the above, Trump’s machinations in Ukraine seem like small potatoes, impeachment circus notwithstanding.

Is this who our Founding Fathers intended us to be? The blood of the collaterally damaged is screaming from the ground.
