Sub-replacement fertility in the U.S. is nothing new. The birthrate among those native to the United States has been below replacement level since 1972.
It is immigration and high immigrant fertility, not high native fertility, that has been driving U.S. population upward.
Dick White is right about population growth being ecologically untenable.
We therefore need to reduce our population, and to achieve negative population growth, we need to drastically reduce immigration.
