Drop off your child’s letter to Santa in the mailbox in front of The Durango Herald, 1275 Main Avenue, in downtown Durango. All letters will be added to this photo gallery and a selection will run in The Durango Herald on Dec. 22.

Dear Santa, I am 40 yrs old, Since I was a child I could remember waking up on a Christmas morning with my family. My parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. Dinner would be ready in a couple of hours. So early in the morning on Christmas morning we would sit around the Christmas tree and open our gifts on a chilly cold snowy Christmas morning. It was beautiful, this memory is what keeps me believing in Santa Clause and I will continue to believe. It's sad to say I lost most of my family over the years. So I stopped having holidays. But I never forgot where I came from. I am a Durango native, I don't want much for Christmas but to sit down with my family for Christmas. I don't see that happening because me and my remaining family have not been in contact for a long time. What I remember about Christmas is family time. I have friends and they are my family and I wish each and every one of them a very merry Christmas. This is what I want for Christmas.
