I thought this was great news from Tri-State for LPEA members who are concerned with Tri-State’s goal to meet their renewable energy goal – it was recently published in the Colorado Rural Electric newsletter:
At one point in early May, Tri-State Generation and Transmission supplied 58% renewable energy to its members. It was a sunny May 4, and Tri-State averaged 46% renewable energy for its members for the day, peaking at 58%.
Then again, on May 7, Tri-State averaged 47% renewable energy for its members with a peak of 55%.
The power supplier’s goal is to provide 50% renewable energy for its members year-round by 2024. It is adding an additional 1,000 megawatts of wind and solar to its system to accomplish this goal.
