In this time of crisis, when so many people are slipping into poverty and health-imperiling deprivation, President Donald Trump and his allies remain intent on tightening access to food stamps and have diverted much in the way of economic relief to the rich, the super-rich and their political allies.
Because of voter suppression and because the popular vote will not be decisive in the November election, Trump needs only to fool some of the people some of the time to further degrade our democracy and impose on us even longer and more painfully his reign of resentment, mean-spiritedness, greed, misery and lies.
