Letters: Why aren’t you people wearing masks?

I read in

In addition it was also noted, “Colorado is asking everyone to wear a non-medical cloth face covering while out in public” and to “use it whenever they are outside the house and yard.”

The Colorado State Department of Health’s website reports that on April 24, Colorado was in the top third of states with the most coronavirus cases with 12,256 reported. On April 26, there were 13,441 cases reported for an increase of 1,185 cases (59 cases in La Plata County – that we know of).

So why am I seeing so few people wearing a mask? Why am I seeing the social-distancing protocol becoming increasingly ignored? Why am I seeing the employees and clients of so many of the businesses that have been deemed essential services not wearing a mask?

Why are people increasingly behaving as if this pandemic is over when it is obviously not?

I find it very concerning. I just don’t get it.
