I am disappointed to hear of Mike Smedley’s resignation.
Political cartoonists and satirists are always pushing the line, teetering on the edge, and that’s why we like them.
I didn’t get a chance to read the offending column before it was pulled but Mike’s apology was over the top sincere, accepting responsibility and a promise for change. I wish we could see more of that in our leaders today.
Thanks, Mike, for the years of humor relief!
Finally, when driving into my other property, the town had a flashing sign saying if this is not your primary residence, stay out of our town. I disagree, but these are the difficult times we live in today. It’s a time to forgive and move on.
