Letters: You should be more careful with photos

I understand it’s more difficult to take current photos, but you should review the use of archive photos to ensure they are in appropriate context with the news article.

Your article about StoneAge sourcing N95 masks shows a picture of the CEO with another employee, seeming to totally disregard commonsense social distancing policies in the workplace (“StoneAge secures hard-to-get N95 masks,” April 5).

In fact, StoneAge has very strict rules to protect their employees.

Your picture is from your archives, I believe taken for an article you published many months ago about employee ownership.

Your editors should review the use of archived pictures and display a notation that says the picture is from the archives whenever its messaging may be misconstrued.

The same should apply to smiling head shots of people delivering bad or sad news.
