Leveling the field

Jo Young, left, and Jim Libby, both with the San Juan Mountains Association’s annual Christmas Tree Conservation Fundraiser, uses a machine Saturday that levels the Christmas tree and bores a hole in the bottom of the tree that then takes all the hassle out of leveling it at home. SJMA is selling more than 700 Noble and Nordmann firs and trees in the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad parking lot. All the money raised from sales of the trees goes to their educational programs.
