The Liberty School is offering a multiday Orton-Gillingham-based reading support training for parents, teachers and tutors who want practical tools to help struggling readers at 4 p.m. Feb. 20 at The Liberty School 3107 Western Ave. The training will take place through March 1 with a mix of evening and full-day sessions.
This approachable, hands-on course introduces the Orton-Gillingham approach to structured literacy and focuses on proven strategies that build foundational reading skills, including sound-letter connections, spelling patterns, breaking words into manageable parts, understanding how words are built and developing reading fluency.
Designed for families and educators, the training emphasizes clear instruction and techniques participants can use right away at home or in the classroom. The sessions are grounded in research-based practices commonly used to support children with dyslexia and other reading challenges.
This training is offered at a cost well below that of comparable literacy trainings. Registration is required.
