Remember encyclopedias?
Growing up in Bayfield, the tiny library on Mill Street was a place to check out a book or look up something in the encyclopedia. Nineteen years ago, the voters supported a small (2.5 mills) levy for a new, modern library.
The library staff and trustees have carefully budgeted for many years but now have to ask for a modest increase to that 1990s tax. We attended a public meeting to learn why. We also searched Vote Yes Pine River Library and found www.voteyesprl.com. The need for this modest mill levy is compelling. We will both be voting yes on Measure 6A.
Please learn about it and then vote yes on 6A for the future of our great library. Ballots will arrive in the mail after Oct. 15.
You can also vote in person before the election and on election day, Nov. 6, at Bayfield Town Hall.
