An estimated 300 young people, along with the young at heart, attended the Pine River Library's second annual STEAM Festival, with activities in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Activities included creating Play-dough and goop, rocket launches, and making musical conductors from tin foil.
Other events: creating boo bubbles with dry ice and dish soap, making paper airplanes and card houses, and explanation on the science of color. A water park also was a hit with local kids.
Gold panning and an escape room also were among the activities.
The library thanks its partner agencies who participated, including the Upper Pine River Fire Protection District, Silver Spruce Academy, Pine River Garden Club, Pine River Shares, Bayfield Association for the Advancement of Music, and the Makerspace program at Ignacio Community Library.
