Prize-winning writers Pam Uschuk and William Root share their hands-on workshop exploring ways of writing memoir using prose and poetry techniques from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 9 at Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive, Bayfield.
Concentrating on a single transformative moment in a person’s life, participants will be given model pieces to practice capturing that moment in a scene or poem. No one’s life is boring, but the way we write a story makes a difference as to whether the story is memorable. Participants will learn to make their stories more vivid and interesting by creating two in-class works of their own.
