Pine River Library will host Family First Friday, a celebration of local sheep culture, from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at the library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive.
Decorate a quilt square, make a simple rag doll and learn about how wool is sheared, cleaned, combed, dyed and spun. Bring fiber arts projects, such as knitting, needlepoint or crochet. Participants can show off their skills or even teach them to others.
Families of all ages are welcome. This program is part of History Live!, a series of events celebrating the humanities in September in Southwest Colorado.
