Children and their families are invited to celebrate Smokey Bear’s 75th birthday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 24 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
The celebration will include music by the San Juan String Band, activities, birthday cake and an appearance by guest of honor Smokey Bear. Children will have the opportunity to meet and have their photos taken with Smokey. The event is being hosted in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service.
