The Life-Long Learning Lecture Series at Fort Lewis College will present “White Guys on Horseback: Cowboy and Confederate Statues” at 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 130 of Noble Hall.
In the summer of 2017, a violent protest in Charlottesville, Virginia, ignited a long-simmering controversy over Civil War statues. Art historian and journalist Judith Reynolds will link contemporary disputes over equestrian and other forms of public art to the past, explore present options and discuss the ancient practice of political erasure.
