Life-Long Learning Speaker Series to be held virtually

The Life-Long Learning Speaker Series lecture will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday on Zoom.

Historian Paul Kuenker will present “‘A Most Awful and Sublime Spectacle’: Steamboat Explosions, Train Wrecks and the Meaning of Modern Danger in 19th Century America.“

Kuenker is an assistant professor of history. He will explore the ways that Americans collectively encountered, interpreted and adapted to the new dangers of travel, all while making the technologies that created them evermore essential to modern life.

The lecture is free to attend.

The meeting location was previous listed as being in person at Noble Hall because of incorrect information posted on the Fort Lewis College event website.
