Life-Long Learning talk to address liberal arts colleges

The Life-Long Learning Lecture Series at Fort Lewis College will present “On Being Human: Facets of Humanities at a Liberal Arts College” at 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 130 of Noble Hall.

Provost Cheryl Nixon will discuss new initiatives in the humanities in higher education in general and specifically at FLC. She will concentrate on cultural programming and community outreach, describing new projects underway and the revival and expansion of the Common Reading Experience. Because considerable energy is being devoted to implementing the new strategic plan throughout the campus, Nixon will invite a discussion of ideas for further development.

Cosponsored by the Office of the President and the Professional Associates of Fort Lewis College, the Life-Long Learning Lecture Series aims to enrich the intellectual life of the college and the community by offering free presentations about a wide variety of subjects.

The free program is open to all.
