The Light Up The Town Holiday Parade will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday starting at Ignacio High School, 315 Ignacio St.

The Taste of Christmas committee has planned the event around COVID-19 restrictions in order to keep the tradition alive in a new way.

The parade offers a safe holiday experience for families by challenging local businesses and residents to decorate homes or businesses in holiday décor and/or create a lit float or vehicle to drive in the parade. Santa will make a special appearance in a unique way.

Those who want to experience the parade from the sidelines are encouraged to park on the streets and watch from their vehicle. KSUT Tribal Radio will play holiday music on 91.3 FM and will broadcast live from the event.

The parade will begin and end at the Ignacio High School, traveling through Goddard, to Pine, to Browning and back up to the high school.
