FARMINGTON – During the weekend of pool play games, the sports department of the Tri-City Record will be providing updates of games in progress, as well as scores and recaps from completed action. 10:15 p.m. FINAL UPDATE ON POOL PLAY GAMES
Easton Autrey and Will Kraus have led the Redskins offense after trailing 2-0 at the end of the first inning. Kraus has a pair of runs scored with a triple, while Autrey doubled and drove in a run. Midland leads 4-2 in the middle of the fourth inning.
The White Sox scored twice in the bottom of the fourth, then added on a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-5 advantage. Karson Chambers has led the attack with a pair of doubles and two runs scored while Ethan Carswell has a pair of hits and Shaun Cover scored a pair of runs for the win.
Jake Ervin continues to swing a hot bat for the Express. Ervin drove in a pair of runs as Oklahoma has a 5-3 lead over D-Bat in the bottom of the third inning. On Friday in the opening day of pool play, Ervin went 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored a run as the Express topped the Zinger National Prospects at Ricketts Park.
D-Bat exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and now have a 9-6 lead over the Express. Ramon Corona has a pair of RBIs while Joshua Viars and Jarett Boswell each have a pair of base hits.
D-Bat expanded their lead with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning to go up by a score of 11-6. The Express battled back, thanks to a 2-run home run by Jaxson Heard to close the gap to 11-8.
Midland Southwest has taken advantage of a pair of fielding errors to jump out to a commanding 6-0 lead into the bottom of the second inning.
Back-to-back base hits from Gunnar Dillard and Luke Hamm got cashed in on a triple from Noah Murphy. Carter Alderson also scored a run in a four-run first. In the top of the second, Jax Heid and Cory Kropp each scored a run on a throwing error by Texas Twelve second baseman Bryce Nixon.
Midland SW added a pair of runs in the top of the third inning thanks to a 2-RBI single from Heid which scored Kropp and Jacob Sivak. In the bottom of the third, Texas Twelve got on the board thanks to an RBI single from Wyatt Clewett which plated Bryce Nixon from second base. Midland SW leads 8-1 heading to the fourth inning.
Midland SW tacked on a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to expand their lead further to a margin of 10-1. Pinch hitter Zachary Wood drove in a pair of runs with a 2-out triple.

Zinger’s Dominic Ziccarelli hit a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to open the scoring. The Prospects tacked on another pair of runs when Devin Bishop drove in Carter Brown off a single before Quentin Starbuck singled and drove in Jayden Lusk. Prospects off to a commanding 5-0 lead.
Ziccarelli drove in another run to put the Patriots up 6-0 before D-Bat got on the board for the first time with an RBI double by Cole Koeninger that plated Rock Duer.
United closed the gap a bit more in the bottom of the third when Brock Burkett doubled and drove in Koeninger before Owen Skinner singled in Burkett to make it a 6-3 game.
United then took the lead with a four-run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning, thanks to both Ramon Corona Mac Lerma getting hit by a pitch with bases loaded, followed by a walk to Jake Felsman that tied the game before Corona scored on a wild pitch.
Zinger flipped the game around with a bases loaded walk to Ziccarelli that evened the score at 8-8, then took back the lead with a bases loaded walk to Joey Bessemer.
Once again, pitching woes came back to bite the Prospects. With bases loaded and no outs, Duer scored on a wild pitch, then earned the win when Koeninger scored on another wild pitch for a 10-9 victory.
In total, D-Bat United batters were walked 12 times and reached base on five hit batters.
Casey McGinnis led off the game for the Dodgers with a solo home run to put them out front 1-0.
Texas Twelve responded with a pair of runs off a 2-RBI double by Harper Gates which scored Wyatt Clewett and Daylen Foor, giving the Twelve a 2-1 lead.
The Texas Twelve piled on in the second inning, scoring five runs and taking a sizable 7-1 lead. Wyatt Clewett hit his third home run of pool play, a three-run shot to extend their lead.
Dulins Dodgers responded with three runs in the fourth inning, then reclaimed the lead with a five-run sixth inning. Those rallies were sparked by back-to-back home runs by Logan Corley and Anthony Del Angel, followed by fifth inning blasts by Tommy Baker and Jacob Pruett.
Corley homered for the second time in the game to put the Dodgers up by an 11-8 margin.
Texas Twelve tried to mount a rally in the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run by Tyler Ramos but came up short.
ABA scores a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. Mason Courtney led off the game with a single and scored from third on a passed ball. Santiago Long singled and later scored on a sac fly to right field off the bat of Adriel Figueroa-Brito.
White Sox cut the lead in half in the top of the second inning when Owen Roach scored off an RBI base hit from Lincoln Boyle. ABA pitcher Eli Edmiston has four strikeouts in two innings on the mound.
The ABA scored again in the bottom of the second when Talan Barraza walked, then advanced to third on a pickoff attempt and scored off a Courtney groundball to the right side of the infield.
The ABA hangs on for a 3-1 win over the White Sox, thanks to a combination of solid pitching and great defense. Courtney made several noteworthy catches in left field while the pitching duo of Edmiston and Luke Feist combined to allow only five hits and three walks while striking out five hitters.
Dulins opened the scoring with a Jacob Pruett run off the bat of John Clark and a fielding error gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. The Patriots answered with a 2-RBI single from E’Mar Fleming that scored Dane Perry and Carter Rutenbar. Patriots lead 2-1.
Dodgers Kolt Larsen advanced to third after a single, then scored on a passed ball to tie the game in the top half of the second inning. 2-2 heading to bottom second.
Patriots scored a run in bottom of second inning thanks to a fielders choice by Roman Stevens which plated Garrison St. Romain from third. 3-2 Patriots going to third inning.
Logan Sharp’s 2-run home run gave the Dodgers the lead once again by a score of 4-3 going to the bottom of the third inning.
The Dodgers scored two more runs in the top of the fifth inning, thanks to a 2-out RBI single off the bat of Logan Corley. Headed to the bottom of the fifth with the Dodgers leading 6-3.
The Patriots got within a run of the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Rutenbar scored from second off the bat of Fleming, who later scored on a stolen base at home. Dodgers maintain slim 6-5 lead.
Dodgers pushed that lead back to a three-run advantage after Tommy Baker and Carson Sharp both reached home, giving the Dodgers an 8-5 cushion heading to the bottom of the sixth.
Carson Brumbaugh gets the Sandlot team on the board after getting a single, stolen base and scoring on a fielders choice. Vaughan McIntyre scored later on a Rhett Winchester single. 2-0 Sandlot going to the top of the sixth.
Midland finally breaks through, scoring nine runs in the top of the sixth inning. Owen Jenkins led off with a walk, while Easton Autrey followed. Will Van Wie doubled in a run followed by a throwing error which led to a pair of runs. Midland’s patience at the plate and on the mound has been their calling card during this contest.
In total, the Redskins sent 14 batters to the plate, taking advantage of three hits, three walks and three hit batters.
Relief pitcher Shawn Sullivan was great coming out of the bullpen for Midland, striking out four and allowing only one walk with a fastball that was clocked on more than one occasion at 92-96 miles per hour. Sullivan picked up the win, throwing 35 pitches before he was pulled in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Harper Gates drove in a pair of runs and the Texas Twelve jumped on the Patriots with a four-run frame in the bottom of the first inning.
The Texas Twelve starting pitcher Jayden Stewart got out of a jam in the top of the second inning to protect a 4-0 lead heading to the bottom of the second.
The Texas Twelve padded their lead in the bottom of the second inning, adding five more runs to take a commanding 9-0 lead. Wyatt Clewett and Daylen Foor each homered for the Texas Twelve. Foor’s grand slam over the left field fence helped break the contest wide open.
The Patriots rallied in the top of the third inning thanks to a pair of RBIs from Hudson McNew and trail by a score of 9-5 heading to the bottom of the third.
The Patriots continue to rally, scoring two more runs in the top of the fourth inning and now trail by a score of 9-7.
Texas Twelve added a run in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend their lead to 10-7, then added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and have a 12-7 advantage.
The Albuquerque Baseball Academy plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning and have a 3-1 lead in the second inning over the Midland Redskins.
Jacob Segotta hit a 2-run blast, driving in Adriel Figueroa-Brito to give the ABA the lead.
Pitchers Matt Delaney and Matt Castillo have each thrown an inning for the ABA, combining to surrender a pair of walks and one hit while striking out one.
Will Van Wie scored on an RBI off the bat of Cru Huenfeld to get the Redskins on the board in the top of the first inning.
Midland closed the gap in the top of the third inning when Owen Jenkins hit a solo home run to center field.
Midland tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the third inning when Luke McLeod drove in Huenfeld.
ABA reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the third when Alijah Romero hit an RBI single to center, scoring Sebastian Chavez to put the ABA back in front by a score of 4-3.
Midland bounced back with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning when Huenfeld drove in Easton Autrey and Ben Voegele, then added another run in the top of the fifth inning to take a 6-4 advantage.
The defending champion Renegades took advantage of three D-Bat errors, scoring five times in the top of the second inning to take an early 5-0 advantage. Scoring base hits from Isaiah Munoz and scoring errors off the bats of Travis Curry and Ben Finnegan pushed the Renegades well ahead.
Pitcher Tyler Onofre three three shutout innings for the Renegades, allowing only one hit while striking out four batters before he was replaced in the bottom of the fourth inning by Riley Jones.
D-Bat United got back into the contest with a 2-RBI single off the bat of Mac Verma followed by a couple of Renegades errors that allowed Brady Boozer and Verma to score. The Renegades now have a 5-4 lead heading to the top of the fifth inning.
D-Bat tied the game in the bottom of the seventh when Cole Koeninger scored on a wild pitch to even the score. D-Bat had a runner on third base with one out before Jarett Boswell and Brady Boozer struck out to end the game in a tie.
Dulins Dodgers scored three times in the bottom of the first inning, with RBI basehits from Logan Corley, John Clark and Easton Sullivan. The Dodgers have a 4-2 lead in the top of the third inning over the Bulls.
Dulins Dodgers extended their lead to 6-2 thanks to a home run in the third inning by John Clark before Midland Southwest rallied with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth.
The Dodgers lead by a score of 6-4.
In a high scoring game, Dulins leads Midland Southwest 8-6 in the top of the fifth inning.
Dulins added a run in both the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to have a 10-6 advantage.
After grabbing an early 3-0 lead, the PPA White Sox surrendered three runs in the bottom of the second thanks to an RBI triple off the bat of Jacob Wehba, as well as RBI base hits from Carson Brumbaugh and Valentino Pupo. The Tulsa Sandlot have a 4-3 lead in the top of the third inning.
The White Sox reclaimed the lead in the top of the third thanks to an RBI single from Jace Elrod and a bases loaded walk to Buck Anderson. The White Sox have a 6-4 lead in the third inning.
The White Sox added to that margin, scoring seven runs in the top of the fourth inning and have a commanding 13-4 advantage over Tulsa Sandlot.
Evan Hanish scored the first run of the game for the Prospects off an RBI triple by Carter Brown. The Express tied the game after Brock Boddie advanced to third on a passed ball then scored on a sac fly by Brody Mattix.
The Express took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Gavin Massey scored on a fielders choice to the first baseman. The Express added a pair of runs to go up 4-1 heading to the third.
The Prospects closed the gap a bit when Jayden Lusk crushed a solo home run over the wall in right field. The Express still lead 4-2 heading to the bottom of the third.
Zinger again got on the board in the top of the fifth inning thanks to a leadoff home run by Evan Hanish that narrowed Oklahoma’s lead to 4-3. Brown’s second triple of the game was wasted however, as the Express failed to bring him home.
The Express loaded the bases in the home half of the fifth inning with nobody out, forcing the Prospects to go back to the bullpen for pitcher Zach Bretza. Boddie and Jake Ervin each scored to extend their lead to 6-3 heading to the bottom of the fifth.
The Prospects again wasted an opportunity to close the gap in the top of the sixth inning. With two on and nobody out, the Prospects failed to cash in and still trail 6-3. They have left two men on base in each of the last three innings and seven overall on the night.
