Nationally-recognized artist and longtime Durango resident Mike Desatnick was recently selected by the Oil Painters of America to be the “juror of awards” judge at its Western Regional Exhibition, which will start Sept. 7 in Boulder.
Desatnick, originally from Indiana, has been a local resident artist for 40 years. After graduating from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, he was invited to join its faculty, where he was an award-winning instructor for six years.
