The 2016 La Plata County Democrat Headquarters will officially open at 10 a.m. Monday.
The office is located at 1911 Main Ave., with the entrance on West 19th St. Volunteers and interested parties are invited to drop in from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours and briefings will be given, and visitors will have an opportunity to sign up for 2-hour shifts between August and the election in November.

Yoga in the Park will continue its twice-monthly sessions from 10 to 11 a.m. on Sundays through late September.
The group meets at Buckley Park, located at Main Avenue and East 12th Street. The remaining dates are July 31, Aug. 7, Aug. 21, Sept. 3 and Sept. 24.
Yoga instructors Sandra Fleming and Nicole Landrus will guide participants through an all-levels class. The program is free, yoga mats are available on-site for $20, and net proceeds from mat sales will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
