‘Blogging 101’ will teach you to get started

“Blogging 101” will be offered at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave.

Participants will learn what a blog is and see examples of popular and local blogs. Then participants will learn how to start their own blogs using WordPress or Tumblr.

Dog training classes slated at senior center

The Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave., will host these dog training classes:

“Basic Manners” will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays, May 31 to June 21. The cost is $20 for four weeks. This class will teach manners such as leash skills and basic commands.“Leash Skills/Focus Work” will be held from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Thursdays, June 2 to June 23. The cost is $20 for four weeks. This class will teach long stays and leash skills, focusing in the presence of distraction and coming when other dogs are present.Orientation for both classes is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. No dogs are allowed at orientation.

Volunteer can help clean up downtown Durango

The 13th annual Downtown Clean Day will take place from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Participants should meet at the Durango Chamber of Commerce tent next to Keller Williams at Seventh Street and Main Avenue.

Volunteers get a T-shirt while they last and coffee from Carver’s Brewing Co.
