Open house planned for sewage plant

The city of Durango will host a community open house on the wastewater treatment plant design from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

The open house will provide the public the opportunity to ask the project team questions about the plant’s architecture, site layout and landscaping.

The city must modernize its existing wastewater treatment system because the plant is aging, difficult to maintain and not equipped to meet future water-quality standards.
