Herbalist offers class about spring allergens

Herbalist Marija Helt will be hosting a class on reducing reactivity to coming spring allergens from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The class provides information about what precipitates an allergic response, natural preventive approaches and what to do during a seasonal allergy attack.

The suggested donation is $20. The class will be held in Durango.

Botanical Society hosts informational session

The Durango Botanical Society will hold an informational session for its 2016 Docent Program from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

DBS docents educate the public about the best uses of water-wise plants uniquely suited to the Four Corners by conducting tours of their Demonstration Garden behind the library and by helping with other DBS educational events. New docents will be a part of the five-fold expansion of the current garden and will meet and work with noted gardening experts from the area and the state. All docent training and materials are offered free of charge.
