Tax help available at Bayfield library
The Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield, will host “1040 Tax Question & Answer” from 5 to 7 p.m. March 31.
Local certified public accountant Laura E. Hokanson will be on hand to answer basic personal questions on a first-come, first-serve basis. This session is limited to people filing as individuals.

Kiwanis Club to hear chamber update
The Kiwanis Club of Durango will welcome Jack Llewelyn as its guest speaker at noon Thursday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Llewelyn is the director of the Durango Chamber of Commerce. He will give an update on its activities.
FLC Board of Trustees will meet April 1
The Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College will conduct a public meeting at 1:45 p.m. April 1 in the Vallecito Room in the Student Union at FLC.
Executive session may be convened for purposes of receiving legal advice on specific legal questions that may arise during the discussion.

Red Shirt campaign supports veterans
The Veterans Committee of Elks Lodge No. 507 is sponsoring Red Shirt Friday.
Participants may purchase a shirt to show their support to local veterans and wear the shirt to selected local merchants for a discount every Friday. Participating merchants will display a “We Support Red Shirt Friday” decal.
Shirts may be purchased from 5 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at the Elks Lodge, 901 East Second Ave. The cost is $20 for a long-sleeve shirt, $15 for a short-sleeve shirt.
