City of Durango to begin booting

The city Parking Division is directed to immobilize vehicles with two or more unpaid citations. Drivers who are eligible for immobilization will be receiving an additional letter in the coming weeks to notify them of the status of their citations.

Beginning shortly, the city will give final notice of pending immobilization to those who fit the criteria of two or more citations more than 30 days past due. These notices will give seven days to the vehicle owner to pay the outstanding citations and avoid immobilization. Immobilized vehicles cannot be released unless all outstanding citations are paid in full or the owner agrees to go to court to discuss their situation with the municipal judge. If said vehicle remains immobilized for 72 hours or longer, it will be towed, which will result in additional fees.

For more information, visit the Durango Transit Center, 250 W. Eighth St., or call 375-4960.
