Time bank to offer introduction
Hour Exchange La Plata, the local time bank, invites the public to a free introductory talk and software orientation from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pine River Public Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield.
People considering joining the time bank should bring a laptop (preferable) or mobile device for the orientation.

Dolores gearing up for Escalante Days
The Dolores Chamber of Commerce announces that the 39th annual Escalante Days Celebration will take place Aug. 7-8 in Dolores.
Dolores River Brewery will host the third annual Escalante Days and Nights Music Festival, with live music from 2 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the brewery’s indoor and outdoor stages. The cost is $10.
Other activities will include: vendors, kiddy parade, kid’s bicycle rodeo, ice cream-eating contest, pancake breakfast, softball tournament, Dolores Rotary Club Escalante Days Mountain Bike Race, parade, hourly Galloping Goose rides, chain saw contest, watermelon-eating contest, water-balloon toss, arm wrestling, penny hunt, three-legged race, Dolores Rotary Raffle drawing for paddleboard, stomp rockets, Kiwanis Duck Race and egg toss.

Wolfwood Refuge to visit Vallecito
“Saturday with the Wolves” will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Five Branches Campground, 4677 County Road 501A at Vallecito Lake.
This is Wolfwood Refuge’s annual visit to Five Branches. A wolf talk will take place at 1 p.m. Five Branches will prepare lunch at noon and suggests a $5 donation. All of the money collected will be given to Wolfwood. Participants will have the opportunity to meet some of the new ambassador wolves, enjoy petting, and take photos. People are asked to not bring dogs.
