“Computer Basics: The Internet” will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Participants will learn how to use a web browser to access the web, and use Google to find information on the Internet.“Adventures in Scratchboard” will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday in May. Scratchboard is a reductive drawing process using fiberglass pencils, fine wire and steel wool. This class will teach the technique.“The Mechanics of Rope” will take place at 3 p.m. May 2. Participants will learn about the types, materials, uses and how to gain mechanical advantage. The instructor has more than 20 years of guiding and rescue experience in handling rope in a variety of settings.“Fruit Trees: Planting & Care” will take place at noon May 11. Participants will learn what fruit trees grow well in this area, how to pick healthy trees, preparing the ground for planting and the care of the tree.“The Awakening of Life: The Bear Dance Explained” will take place at 4:30 p.m. May 12. The TARA (Tiffany Arboles Rosa Allison) Organization will host a fundraising dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. May 1 at the TARA Community Center, 333 Milton Lane in Arboles.
The dinner will feature a taco bar. Tickets purchased by April 28 are $14 for adults and $8 for children ages 5 to 12. Tickets purchased at the door are $16 for adults and $9 for children ages 5 to 12. Children younger than 5 are free. Funds raised will be used as operating money for the organization,

Indie Lens Pop-Up, presented by Mancos Public Library, 211 West First St., will offer an advance screening of “The Armor of Light” at 6 p.m. April 28.
This film follows the journey of evangelical minister Rob Schenck, who is trying to find the courage to preach about the growing toll of gun violence in America. A community discussion with local clergy and religious leaders will follow the screening.

The Durango Police Department will accept unused or expired household medication for safe disposal from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 in the lobby of the Durango Police Department, 990 East Second Ave.
Drug Take Back programs, which are a cooperation between a local law enforcement agency and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, are the best way to dispose of old drugs, authorities say. The proper disposal of unused drugs can save lives and protect the environment.
