Wanted: A financially savvy volunteer
La Plata County commissioners are seeking applicants for the Long-Term Finance Committee.
The committee assists commissioners with respect to long-term financial planning.
Applicants must have the interest and experience to assist in preserving the county’s fiscal soundness, and must be residents of La Plata County with some knowledge of its government and background.

Turtle Lake holds a seed swap
Turtle Lake Refuge and the Southwest Seed Library will host a Seed Swap Gathering from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rocky Mountain Retreat, 848 East Third Ave.
Participants should bring seeds to share and a potluck dish.

Equine-equipment consignment coming
A Horse Tack and Equipment Consignment Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2 at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
Saddles, tack, horse trailers and more will be offered. Consigners can check in from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 1.
The sale is a benefit for the Four Corners Back Country Horsemen.

Fairgrounds office announces closure
The La Plata County Fairgrounds and Extension Office will be closing during the lunch hour from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Monday beginning April 4.
