Psychologist to give lunch presentation

Doug Miller, a psychologist, will be giving a presentation to the Durango High Noon Rotary Club from 11:45 to 1 p.m. Thursday at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.

Cost for lunch is $15.

Come learn about invasive plants

“Invasive Plant Species Workshop” will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at The Durango Nature Center, 1309 E. Third Ave. No. 34.

Discover the invasive plant species commonly found in Southwest Colorado and what is being done to control them. Volunteer your time and spend the afternoon helping DNS remove thistle. All workshop participants will receive free entry to the Nature Center, which is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring water, snacks and work gloves.

Road Runner closes on Memorial Day

Road Runner bus service will not be operating Transit or Dial A Ride services on May 30 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

Regular service will resume May 31.

AARP will offer driver safety course

An AARP driver safety courses will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 31 and June 14 at La Plata County Fairgrounds.

No pre-registration is required. Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m. The cost for AARP members will be $15, and for nonmembers it will be $20.
