The Durango Elks Lodge Veterans Committee will serve breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays of the month at the Durango Elks Lodge, 901 East Second Ave.
Participants should use the Ninth Street entrance.
The cost is $5 for veterans and $6 for non-veterans.
La Plata County Commissioner Julie Westendorff will hold office hours for the general public to meet with her from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive, in Bayfield.

Healing Spirits, an aftercare group from the Peaceful Spirit Treatment Center in Ignacio, will host these events:
A dinner and panel called “Journey of Healing,” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Multi-Purpose Building, 258 Ute Road in Ignacio. The event will start with a dinner sponsored by the Daughters of the Red Road. The panel will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include Southern Ute/Ute Mountain Ute tribal members. The event is free and open to the public. The “Community Poetry Slam” will take place Friday at the Multi-Purpose Building. A Healing Spirits fundraising dinner will start at 6 p.m. and will be $5 per person. The Poetry Slam will start at 7 p.m. and include categories for middle-schoolers, high-schoolers and adults. There will be prizes for the top two winners in each category. Marjorie Borst, Oolcu Buckskin and Renee Morgan are confirmed judges. The “Children’s Pow Wow” will be held April 9 at the Ignacio Middle School, 222 County Road 320, with a Grand Entry at 1 p.m. For more information, call 563-4555.
The Heroes Home Advantage program will host a free workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday in Durango.
The program provides rebates and real estate services to Southwest Colorado’s retired and active law enforcement, firefighting, education, military and medical professionals.
The workshop will provide information about how local heros can save thousands when they buy, sell or refinance their home.
The program is made up of a nationwide network of real estate professionals dedicated to giving back to those who have given so much.
