Smith Sports Complex grand opening set

The grand opening for the Smith Sports Complex on the campus of Fort Lewis College is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday on the new fields.

Historic board will meet Wednesday

The Durango Historic Preservation Board will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Smith Chambers of Durango City Hall, 949 East Second Ave.

The mission of the board is to protect and preserve Durango’s historic and cultural heritage as embodied in designated historic landmarks and districts by appropriate regulations.

The board reviews nominations to the Durango Historic Register, reviews alterations to historic structures, provides help to property owners with historic structures, develops programs to enhance historic preservation and provides public education.

FLC Trustees will hold teleconference

The Advisory Committee of the Fort Lewis College Board of Trustees will meet via teleconference beginning at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The committee will receive investment activities updates and an update on discussions held at the Board of Trustees retreat.

The meeting will be held in Room 230 of the Education/Business Building at Fort Lewis College.

Choral Society to hold auditions

The Durango Choral Society is kicking off season number 47.

Adult auditions will be held Aug. 22.

All experienced choral singers with the ability to read music are encouraged to call 759-2206 to schedule an appointment.
