Fort Lewis trustees discuss business

The Business Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by the Academic Affairs Committee at 3 p.m.

The Governance Committee will convene at 4 p.m. An executive session may be convened to evaluate the Fort Lewis College president.

All meetings will be held in the President’s Conference Room, 2503 Berndt Hall, 1000 Rim Drive.

Trails 2000 to hold trail work party

Trails 2000 will hold a trail work party at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Perins Gulch in Overend Mountain Park.

The trailhead is at the end of Leyden Street.

Bayfield library holds book and bake sale

The Friends of the Bayfield Library will be holding a book and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in conjunction with Bayfield Yard Sale Day.

All proceeds support the library.

Animas River Days launches with films

Animas River Days will kick off with a party celebrating two great paddling films at the Durango Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Doors will open at 5:30.

Films will appeal to boaters and non-paddlers alike.

This year, the series of local films includes 110 minutes of whitewater intrigue, highlighted by a double feature of “Voyagers Without Trace” and “River of Sorrow.”

Tickets are available at Maria’s Bookshop, Four Corner’s Riversports and online at animasriverdays.com.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door.

Christ the King hosts G-Force Youth Group

Christ the King Lutheran Church will host G-Force Youth Group from 1 to 5 p.m. June 7.

Snacks, a game and a lesson will be offered.

There will also be a worship through music.

Some sessions of this program will offer service projects and outdoor field trips.
