Fort Lewis College veggie stand reopens
The Old Fort Farm Stand will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, April 20 and May 4 inside the Student Union at Fort Lewis College.
The stand will offer greens, carrots, beets, potatoes, dryland pinto beans, basil pesto, beet hummus, zucchini bread, pumpkin chipper bread, gluten-free muffins, grass-fed beef and local pork.

Hear a live stream of Handel’s ‘Messiah’
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will stream Handel’s “Messiah” with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at 7:30 p.m. Friday at:

An introduction will take place at 7 p.m.,followed by the live broadcast at 7:30 p.m.
To assist participants with the singing experience, the choir is providing a downloadable PDF file of the concert program with lyrics, and historical information about “Messiah” at mormontabernaclechoir.org/messiah. The lyrics also will be shown onscreen with the broadcast. Participants are asked to post their experiences on social media with the hashtag #MessiahLive.
Durango Nature Studies to host full moon hike
Durango Nature Studies will host a full moon hike under the Worm Moon from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fall Creek.
The hike is free for members, and $10 for nonmembers. Participants will learn about natural history, nocturnal animals, local landforms, and moon facts and legends.

Health issue on ballot is focus of Thursday talk
The League of Women Voters of La Plata County will sponsor a public meeting about ColoradoCare Amendment 69, an initiative proposing universal health care for Colorado on the November 2016 ballot, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
Writer and filmmaker T.R. Reid will be the featured speaker. Amendment 69 will establish a resident-owned, nongovernmental health care financing system designed to ensure comprehensive, quality, accessible, lifetime health care for every Colorado resident.
