The city of Durango will present the final design for proposed work in the Animas River at the Santa Rita Pump Station at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, Sunlight and Eolus rooms, 2700 Main Ave.
The project location is on the Animas River just upstream of the Whitewater Park at the north end of Santa Rita Park. The project will begin after high flows, with construction anticipated from mid-August to mid-November.
The city is presenting the design to the public to discuss project needs and uses of the river during construction. There will be time for questions.

A free legal clinic for people who have no attorney will be offered from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave., Ignacio.
By computer link, volunteer attorneys will answer questions, help fill out forms and explain the process and procedure for all areas of civil litigation, including family law, property law, probate law, collections, appeals, landlord-tenant law, small claims, veterans issues and civil protection orders.

National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Southwestern Colorado will meet at noon Thursday in the Oak Room at the Strater Hotel.
Randy Wimsatt of Voya Financial Advisors will speak to the benefits of NAIFA membership for financial advisors. He has been a member of NAIFA for 36 years. He has served on all levels of NAIFA in New Mexico and is the current NAIFA president in New Mexico. He has received several NAIFA awards as agent of the year, N.M. professional of the year and the lifetime achievement award.

The La Plata County Board of County Commissioners seeks interested individuals to serve on the Pine River Public Library District Board. The Board oversees the operation and administration of the Pine River Public Library. Terms are five years and applicants must reside within the boundaries of the library district.
