FLC committees to meet Thursday

The Investment Advisory Committee of the Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday.

The Business Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College will meet at 2 p.m., followed by the Academic and Student Affairs Committee at 3 p.m. These meetings will be held in the President’s Conference Room, 2503 Berndt Hall, Fort Lewis College.

Heart Safe La Plata offers CPR classes

Heart Safe La Plata, a local nonprofit organization, will offer these CPR classes at the Durango Fire Protection District Station No. 1, 142 Sheppard Drive:

An adult CPR/AED class will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday.

A CPR Pro class will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Dec. 10.

Night in Bethlehem to be held in Bayfield

A free, interactive Christmas family event called “A Night in Bethlehem” will be hosted from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 89 E. Mill St., Bayfield.

Families will step back in time to the biblical Bethlehem, exploring the love of Jesus in an interactive marketplace setting. Kids and adults will be immersed in an experience where they interact with shopkeepers and discover details about the birth of Jesus. Guests will enjoy trips to the Bethlehem Bakery, Fisherman’s Pier, Spice Shoppe, Toy Shoppe, Census Taker’s Office/Scribe, wool spinners, Leather or Painting Shoppe, Mosaics Shoppe and Sweet Shoppe, as well as seeing the animals at the nativity scene. The event is free.

Allison Grange hosts breakfast, food drive

Mt. Allison Grange will host a free community breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday.

The breakfast will include eggs, sausage, pancakes, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee. Each attendee is asked to bring a food item for a community food distribution.
