Tour de Farms tickets still available

The 10th annual

The in-town ride group will meet at 7:45 a.m. at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave., for a five-mile tour of three backyard gardens, Manna Soup Kitchen Garden and the Miller Middle School Garden.

The long ride group will meet at 7:30 a.m. at Ska Brewing Co., 225 Girard St., for a 25-mile tour of two backyard gardens, two farms, Sunnyside Meats and Table to Farm Composting.

All participants are invited to Ska Brewery for complimentary post-ride food from Zia Taqueria, a beer or soda from Ska, a free pint glass and entry in a prize drawing. Six Dollar String Band will provide music.

Registration is $25, and a portion of proceeds will benefit Neil Hannum, also known as The Chip Peddler, as he recovers from a traumatic bike wreck in June.

Children’s charity to hold disc golf tourney

The Cristian Korte Memorial Disc Golf Birthday Bash will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Colorado Timberline Academy disc golf course, located at 35554 U.S. Highway 550.

On-site registration will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the academy’s soccer field and online registration is available at www.discgolfunited.com. The event is $25 for adults and $10 for ages 15 and under.

Lunch will feature a $10 taco bar by Zia Taqueria and a prize drawing.

Many discs will be available for purchase at the tournament. The morning event will be one round, and a competitive round will be offered after lunch for those interested.

Allison church to hold pig roast

Allison Community Presbyterian Church will hold its annual pig roast from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at 2724 County Road 329 in Ignacio.

The dinner menu will include roast pig, baked beans, baked potatoes, green beans, tossed salad and rolls.

Dessert will feature cobbler with ice cream. Beverage options are iced tea, lemonade, or coffee.
