The city of Durango is using the herbicides Cornerstone, Plateau, and Perspective to improve the quality of right of ways, parks and open spaces through July 30. The weed control products are tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.
The areas to be sprayed, weather permitting, are Greenmount Cemetery, the Animas River Trail System, the city trail system at Three Springs, Three Springs Open Space, the guardrails along Roosa Avenue and the guardrails along Santa Rita Drive and Chapman Hill.

The Colorado Department of Transportation will host a phone-in town hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
