Culverts to be replaced west of Mancos
The Colorado Department of Transportation is replacing two culverts underneath Colorado Highway 184 at Chicken Creek, west of Mancos at mile point 25.1.
The project involves replacement of two 40-year-old corrugated metal pipes. The contractor will replace the two culverts through a pipe-jacking process, which will limit impacts to the roadway and to travelers. Also at this site, crews will fill an old, unused cattle underpass to fix the roadside erosion it has caused. Through the project’s completion in late May, drivers can expect single-lane, alternating traffic Monday through Friday, during daylight hours.
