Two local students, Alexandra Dobbs of Durango and Tara Abrams of Cortez, were named among the 34 Fort Lewis College students and two faculty members who attended the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science National Convention in October in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dobbs, who gave a presentation at the convention, is a mathematics major, and Abrams is a chemistry major.
The trip was funded by National Institute of Health program Science Scholars: The Native American Path.
