Local groups to host Choke Cherry Canyon trash cleanup

Allen Elmore and Cliffhangers Four Wheel Drive Club, with the support of Waste Management, Four Corners Powersports and other local organizations, will host a trash cleanup in Chokecherry Canyon and the Glade Run Recreation area from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 21 at the canyon entrance on Pinon and Glade in Farmington.

Prizes from local tattoo artists Ty Morris and Andrea Hathcock, food gift cards from Taco Bell and Bio Stic (Texas Roadhouse), gift cards to Aspen Leaf Yogurt from County Commissioner John Beckstead and more will be given away at the end of cleanup.

Lunch will be provided by Four Corners Powersports at noon at Brown Springs campground. At 4 p.m., participants are invited to meet at Brown Springs Campground again for beer and prizes.

The groups remind the community that dumping yard waste and construction materials is illegal and results in fines.
