Local groups, youth are wonderful for helping others at Christmas

I want to thank all those staff members, parents and community members who so graciously gave financially to help brighten several students' and families' Christmas this year. This is a picture of this community's generosity:

Bayfield Lions Club/Calvary Presbyterian Church - Joyce Knoll sewed 30 pairs of homemade pajamas for children at the elementary school.Project Merry Christmas - served 18 families in our district with presents.Empty Bowls - handed out Farmers Fresh gift cards to seven families.Manna Soup Kitchen/Boys and Girls Club - a bag of food every week to 15 families.Homeschool Group - gave two families food for Christmas dinner.Future Farmers of America Project Merry Christmas - bought presents for four families and shared a half beef.Anonymous staff member - donated Farmers Fresh gift cards to 24 families.Ignacio Elementary School students brought in over 2,000 food items for the Sharing Tree food drive that Head Start and our local 4H organizes and delivers to families. Thanks to Bridget and the FFA members for taking their personal time to shop for presents and wrap them for several families, and a huge thank you to the FFA families who donated financially as well as donating the half beef. What a great service to have students serve others!

A special thanks to Tori Telep and Jennifer Diethrich for spearheading the program each year and making sure our students have a great holiday. You are AWESOME!

And lastly, to the anonymous staff member who has given so much this year to help so many students, you are an angel!!
