After all the rain over the past week, local sports fans will be hoping for some dry bleachers and dry fields all over La Plata County for the next week of local sports.
The storms across the Southwest affected many different sporting events last week, but the season still goes on. Some teams’ playoff opportunities, like Durango High School softball, are already here. Others are still jockeying for position in the state or conference standings.
There’ll be plenty of football around with Fort Lewis College, Durango High School and Bayfield High School having home games. Durango softball hits the road for its first postseason in over a decade and plenty of FLC teams are home for homecoming week.
Here’s the local sports schedule for the upcoming week:

Notes: After a gauntlet of a schedule in the middle of September, FLC women’s soccer has found its footing with three consecutive victories, including a dominant 9-0 win at home against New Mexico Highlands on Friday and a 2-0 win at home against Adams State on Sunday.
