With January all but finished and February on the horizon, local winter sports are well over halfway through their seasons. High school and college basketball teams are beginning to look toward their postseasons, with every game mattering for conference or league placement. Fort Lewis softball will begin its season this week, with FLC indoor track having begun competition as well. Here are all the local sports events for the upcoming week:

Fort Lewis College basketball:

Fort Lewis women’s basketball at Colorado School of Mines on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Records: A 74-71 loss to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs last week extended the Skyhawks’ losing streak to four games. They bring a 5-13 overall record and a 2-8 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play into their matchup with the Orediggers, who sit at 7-11 overall and 5-5 in the RMAC.
