Local students present at Geological Society of America

These area students attended and presented at the Rocky Mountain Section of the Geological Society of America held in Manhattan, Kansas, from March 27 to 29.

Mateo Sanabria, a geology major, presented a poster titled, “Constraint on Timing and History of Late Mesozoic To Cenozoic Plutons in the San Miguel Mountains, Southwestern Colorado.”Tanner Morgan, a geology major, presented a poster titled, “Mapping Surface Geochemical Data with GIS In Lower Lisbon Valley, Utah.”

Jonathan Montano, a geology major, presented a poster titled, “Quantification of Residual Uranium in Soil at the Durango Dog Park, Durango, Colorado”.

Van Lancaster, a undeclared major, presented a poster titled, “Determining the Basement Fault Structure of the Hogback Monocline In Northwest, NM Using Fracture Patterns and Geomechanical Modeling.”
